PLAYD
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 5, 2026
This policy explains how PLAYD processes personal data to provide a social network for gaming life. It applies to the app, public pages, and related PLAYD features.
1. Controller and contact
The PLAYD service is operated by the PLAYD team. For privacy questions, exercising rights, or data deletion, contact us at playd.support@gmail.com.
2. Account data
We may process data needed to create and maintain your account, including email, name, username, internal identifier, avatar, banner, biography, location, language, interests, creation date, and account preferences.
Passwords are stored using appropriate protection mechanisms and are not kept in plain text. PLAYD will not ask for your password by email or through Support.
3. Third-party login
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the data needed to identify and authenticate your account, such as identifier, name, email, and image, according to the permissions shown during sign-in. Google use is also subject to Google’s privacy policy.
4. Library and gaming activity
We process games added to your library, wishlist, status, ratings, reviews, comments, favorites, collections, history, game sessions, dates, duration, and playtime entered manually or synchronized with Steam.
5. Social features
To provide social features, we process followers, people you follow, interactions, likes, comments, reviews, collections, activities, and profile information that you choose to make public.
When you submit a report, we process the protocol, target, reason, and details you provide to investigate safety, abuse, and Terms violations. These records are removed when the account is deleted, except where retention is necessary for a legal obligation or security.
To enable triage, a report summary may be sent to the support channel and remain in the support mailbox for the time needed to handle the case and meet legal obligations. Email copies and operational records are removed when no longer needed, except where legal or security retention applies.
6. Optional Steam integration
If you connect Steam, we process the account identifier and data needed to import your library, games, and playtime according to the integration permissions. We do not receive or store your Steam password.
You can disconnect Steam in the app settings. Data already imported may remain in your library until you remove it or delete your account, depending on the feature used.
7. Technical data and security
We may record IP address, user agent, operating system, device, app version, language, access times, authentication sessions, errors, and events needed for security, abuse prevention, diagnosis, and service operation.
8. Notifications
If you authorize notifications, we process the device’s technical token and delivery information to send notifications and keep the feature working. You can disable them in your device or app settings.
9. Recommendations and personalization
We use library data, interests, ratings, and activity to organize recommendations, statistics, and discovery features, such as game suggestions and personalized highlights. These functions do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
10. Game catalog
Catalog data, covers, genres, platforms, and other game information may be obtained from providers such as IGDB and Twitch. This data describes games and does not necessarily represent your personal information.
11. Purposes
We process data to:
- create, authenticate, and protect your account;
- maintain your profile, library, reviews, collections, and sessions;
- provide social features, search, and recommendations;
- synchronize authorized integrations such as Steam;
- send requested notifications;
- prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and violations of the Terms;
- provide support, fix errors, and improve the service.
12. Legal bases
Where applicable, we process data based on performance of the requested service, consent, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests in security, abuse prevention, support, and improving PLAYD, in accordance with applicable law, including Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
13. Sharing and providers
We do not sell personal data. We may share only what is necessary with providers that support the service, such as Google for login, Steam/Valve for the authorized integration, Twitch/IGDB for the catalog, Render for hosting, and notification providers. We may also comply with valid legal orders. Providers must process data according to their responsibilities and applicable contracts.
14. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside Brazil. In those cases, we adopt available contractual and technical measures to protect data and comply with applicable law.
15. Retention
We keep data while your account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes described. After deletion, personal data is removed or anonymized, except for information that must be retained due to legal obligations, the exercise of legal rights, or security. In those cases, we keep only what is necessary for the applicable period.
16. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account in the app at Settings → Account and security → Delete account. This action removes the account and associated data, including login sessions, integrations, library, reviews, comments, collections, activity, and notification devices, subject to the legal exceptions described above.
We also provide a public page with information about the process: account deletion.
17. Data subject rights
Within the limits of the LGPD, you may request confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, blocking, deletion, portability, information about sharing, and withdrawal of consent. To do so, write to playd.support@gmail.com. We may request additional information to confirm your identity and protect the account.
18. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational controls, such as authentication, protected sessions, access control, data validation, and monitoring of errors and abuse. No internet-connected service is completely secure, but we handle incidents according to applicable law.
19. Public content
Username, profile, reviews, comments, collections, and activities may be displayed publicly according to your settings and the nature of the feature. Do not publish personal or sensitive information that you do not want to make public.
20. Children
PLAYD is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so that we can assess and take appropriate action.
21. Cookies and local storage
Web pages may use essential cookies for sessions and security. The app may use local storage to keep preferences and an authenticated session. We do not use these technologies to sell personal data.
22. Advertising
The current version of PLAYD does not display advertisements. If this changes, we will update this policy and the information shown in the app and store before enabling the feature.
23. External links
PLAYD may contain links to third-party services. Processing by those services follows their policies, and we recommend reviewing them before providing data.
24. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service or the law. We will publish the updated version on this page and change the date at the beginning of the document.
25. Data protection authority
If you believe your rights have not been addressed, you may contact Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), without prejudice to contacting us first.
26. Contact
